Neil
Celebrated New Year's at a traditional Japanese ryokan with tatami-matted rooms. The natural hot springs baths were a great way to start the year and the stunning waterfalls around the hotel were a beautiful sight. The staff was friendly and made an effort to help us despite the language barrier.
The lack of English signage and communication could be frustrating at times. the beds were more like cots with thin comforters, which made for an uncomfortable sleep.

This Japanese ryokan offers traditional tatami-matted rooms and a charming setting by beautiful waterfalls. The staff, although primarily catering to Japanese guests, is friendly and helpful. The natural hot springs baths are a wonderful experience, perfect for relaxation. The dinner consists of many courses of delicious Japanese cuisine, served with utmost care and attention. Guests can immerse themselves in the local culture by wearing provided kimonos and sandals during dinner. the hotel provides a truly authentic and enjoyable Japanese experience.
Limited English signage and communication may pose a challenge for non-Japanese speakers.

Great location with beautiful scenery and waterfalls nearby.
Limited signage in English, which made it difficult for non-Japanese speakers.
